About Beth
Hello! Thanks for being curious about me in my writing (and coaching) life. Here’s the brief rundown.
Creativity, Mindset and Writing all go together, whether we recognize it or not. I am a coach, hypnotherapist, sales trainer, and student of the spiritual side of life and thinking. I have taken a lifetime of learning in various modalities and applied them all to helping people get unstuck, into action, and flowing with creativity.
Growing up on an Illinois farm, at twelve I attempted my first novel about a wagon train headed west, but the packing and provisioning of that Conestoga was too fascinating, and as far as I got. In high school, where I attended a girl’s academy, I penned angst-ridden poetry and articles for the school paper.
In college at Wisconsin, after my fiancé died, I attempted post-apocalyptic survival stories while studying history and journalism. Later, as a young wife on a rural ranch in Arizona, science fiction called me, and I envisioned the Anasazi as a lost colony of aliens.
As a young widow in Tucson I didn’t have time to do more than journal while working to support my children. My search for answers to the ‘Why’ questions in life, led me to begin a study of spirituality; how the mind works to enable us to create the life we lead; and how we can change that!
In a second marriage, I wrote self-help workshops and tracts. After that, I wrote and trained in business, sales and what I called Peaceful Selling, a way to be authentic in an often manipulative profession.
Through it all I researched an enduring mystery from the plains of Illinois near my birthplace where a fascinating crime (a sort of OJ meets the Menendez Brothers) happened. That historical true crime is now finished! It is being published in March of 2012, and is titled Lies Told Under Oath. It’s available at Amazon and B & N and other fine book sellers.
In the mean time, I continue my coaching practice helping people free themselves from their Stuck Places – in life, and in writing. If you feel stuck, find hope as a start. And if you need help, feel free to contact me.
